Ground rules for this website
Reading and using these pages means accepting what follows. It is about the website alone. An actual paint job runs on its written quote and on the workmanship and guarantee terms.
Guides describe typical houses, not yours
The painting notes here describe how Auckland houses are usually prepared and painted. Weatherboards, plaster and old enamel all behave differently, so talk through anything important with whoever quotes your job. On lead-based paint and working off ladders, the official guidance linked from each page outranks anything written here.
Cost figures are a starting point
Every dollar figure on the cost pages comes from numbers that Auckland painting firms and industry sources have published themselves. They are there to show what pushes a price up or down. The figure that counts is the one in a written quote, made after someone has stood in front of your walls.
Outside links
Pages link to WorkSafe, Health NZ, BRANZ, Auckland Council and similar bodies so you can check the source yourself. What those organisations publish, and any later edits to it, are theirs.
When these rules change
They can be updated at any time. Each page footer carries the date its content was last checked. The law of New Zealand governs these terms.
